Agni Aviation as it is popularly known today began as Agni Aero-Sports Aviation Academy in the year 1994. It was a pioneering effort in the private sector at promoting Aero-Sports and was without precedence in India. The facility was established at Jakkur, a small satellite airfield on the outskirts of Bangalore. Located on the Bangalore-Hyderabad highway and wedged between Bangalore City and the Indian Air Force Base at Yelahanka, Jakkur has a 900-meter tarred airstrip that can accommodate light aircraft only.
